How We Litigate

At the outset we take special care to learn all of the relevant facts known by the client. We fully analyze the controversy, prepare our theory of the case, and promptly decide upon the best course of action. We then set out to compile the necessary proofs and defeat the various counter measures that we anticipate our adversary will employ.

Next, we attempt to resolve the client's matter through negotiations or mediation. Our philosophy is that all avenues of negotiation should be exhausted prior to entering into protracted litigation. If negotiations cannot resolve the issue, we are then in a position to use the information obtained during negotiations to initiate full litigation to resolve the client's claim.

We take the initiative, rather than merely respond to what the adversary does, every stage and particularly at trial to state our client's best possible case in light of the evidence and prevailing laws.

The Law Offices of Petsas and Stephens, LLP has a great depth of experience in litigation and trials in the State Courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation. We will handle your case aggressively and conscientiously, and we will seek out opportunities for alternative dispute resolution whenever appropriate or necessary.
